Misfits

Bradbury Misfits

Bradbury Misfits was the original plan for my first book.  It was to be the story of the friendship of three children, Sebastian, Molly, and Tess. The story was to include some of the mishaps my sister and I found ourselves in.  However, when writing the backstory of Sebastian, it became clear his was the story to tell, thus The Tale of Sam Allen Mitchell was written.

I had already written several chapters of Bradbury Misfits and planned to release it either as a Novella 1.5 or include it in book 2.  Unfortunately, it did not fit in with the next two books.  I still feel it is important to explain what Sam was protecting by not returning home when he had the chance. He felt he couldn't take the chance of his past following him home until he could protect those he loved.

I decided to release the first two chapters of Bradbury Misfits on my Facebook page but some of the chapters could earn me a strike or two due to the abuse young Sebastian receives from his mother Mary Ann. It was then I decided to create a website to post the chapters.

Bradbury Misfits follows Sebastian, Molly, and Tess from age six to ten beginning when they meet in first grade until Sebastians's mother tears him away from his home at age ten.

This will be an ongoing process adding chapters as time allows. Sam and his friends keep me busy telling his tale. To locate the books, click the Sebastian button which will be linked to my author page on Amazon. To read chapters of his beginnings, click the Misfits button.

A word from the author

I enjoy reading trilogies and anthologies. I have always been an avid reader and love when books intertwine. My favorite books are contemporary, where the protagonist is a complex character. They don’t always ‘do the right thing’ but they do what they feel is right at the time given the choices they have.
